#FIFA bans Siasia for life over match fixing: From Hero to Zero, He Has Let The Whole Country Down – Nigerians React

Following Fifa’s lifetime ban on former Nigeria coach Samson Siasia for match fixing, football followers has taken to social media to react on the viral news.
On Friday, the independent Ethics Committee found Siasia guilty of art. 11 (Bribery) of the 2009 edition of the Fifa Code of Ethics which has resulted in his lifetime ban from football-related activities and a fine of CHF 50,000.
However, Nigerians are surprised by the situation the former youth coach has found himself in after he led the country to silver and bronze medals at the 2008 Beijing and 2016 Rio Olympic Games respectively.

Nigeria's head coach Samson Siasia, right, reacts next to Germany's head coach Horst Hrubesch during the second half.
Former Nigeria national team coach Samson Siasia has been banned from the game for life following a match-fixing probe by world governing body FIFA.
FIFA said in a statement on Friday that the adjudicatory chamber of their independent Ethics Committee found that Siasia was “guilty of having accepted that he would receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches in violation of the FIFA Code of Ethics.”
The 51-year-old Siasia played 51 times as a striker for the Nigerian national team and later coached various national youth sides before a spell as senior coach in 2016.
The case is the latest to emerge from FIFA’s long-running investigation into the activities of Singaporean Wilson Raj Perumal, who FIFA has called a “known match fixer” and who has admitted such activity in several interviews.
FIFA said that he was banned for life “from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level.”

What a shameful way to end his career. #Samson #siasia should have known better. They say a good name is better than riches.

We'll not handover the church to rascals - Pastor Kumuyi

Vanguard News Nigeria

….charges members on obedience to leadership

THE General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, Saturday, maintained that the church will not be handed over to ‘rascals’ who are not portraying the image of Christ in their character.

Kumuyi made the declaration via a satellite broadcast from headquarters of the church in Lagos, while teaching on the topic, ‘Fear Not: The Promise Is Still Good’ during the Faith Clinic session at the ongoing Deeper Life National December Retreat, holding at the Deeper Life Conference Centre (DLCC), which started on Friday, December 21 and ends December 25.

He said the church will not condone any form of rascality and rebellion because the word of God never encourages that and is a strange behaviour capable of taking one to hell fire.

He said: “We are not going to hand the church over to rascals, over to rebellious people that want to scatter everything that is good that the Lord is doing. If you …
