The Federal, States and Local Governments on Thursday shared the sum of N637.554bn being revenue for the month of January 2018.

This sum is about N20bn lower than the N655bn they shared in December 2018.

She said though "the average price of crude oil increased from $56.83 to $57.71 per barrel during the period, other major issues that impacted negatively on operations.”

She explained that there were shut-ins and shut-downs of production at various terminals for repairs and force majeure declared at Bonny Terminal that was still in place during the period under review."

Represented at the meeting by the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris, the minister said "there were significant increase in oil royalty and value added tax (VAT).

Giving the breakdown, she said the Federal Government received a total of N263.283 billion including VAT.

The State governments received a total of NN143.902 billion VAT inclusive while the Local Government Councils got a total of N129.985 billion VAT inclusive.

The oil producing states received a total of N52.042 billion as 13 per cent derivation of mineral revenue from a total of N400.325 billion generated from crude oil sale for the month.

"The gross statutory revenue of N538.908bn received for the month was lower than the N540.446bn received in the previous month by N1.538bn.

Operational challenges caused a decrease in Crude oil export by 0.36 million barrels which reduced revenue from export sales for the $113.86 million.

Also "for the month of January, 2018, the gross revenue available from the VAT was N96.646bn as against N83.963bn distributed in the preceding month, resulting in an increase of N12.684bn" the minister noted.

Vanguard News Nigeria

….charges members on obedience to leadership

THE General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, Saturday, maintained that the church will not be handed over to ‘rascals’ who are not portraying the image of Christ in their character.

Kumuyi made the declaration via a satellite broadcast from headquarters of the church in Lagos, while teaching on the topic, ‘Fear Not: The Promise Is Still Good’ during the Faith Clinic session at the ongoing Deeper Life National December Retreat, holding at the Deeper Life Conference Centre (DLCC), which started on Friday, December 21 and ends December 25.

He said the church will not condone any form of rascality and rebellion because the word of God never encourages that and is a strange behaviour capable of taking one to hell fire.

He said: “We are not going to hand the church over to rascals, over to rebellious people that want to scatter everything that is good that the Lord is doing. If you …
